Fencing Panels | eDecks Blog

Whether you’re looking for fencing panels to make your garden more private, or you’re just looking for some neat fencing to border the front lawn, it’s a good idea to know your options before diving into your purchase.

Fencing panels for light

If you’d like a fence, but don’t want to lose important sunlight for your plants, you have a few options.

If you’d still prefer a bit of privacy, Venetian fence panels are a good option – with boards placed closely together, but allowing slats of light through, these panels are well designed for gardeners looking for some light while retaining privacy.

Just looking for an attractive border? Palisade fence panels offer a great solution, featuring spaced out panels and often only being waist height, these panels are popular for the keen gardener.

Fencing panels for security & privacy

Fencing is a good option for adding some privacy and security from prying eyes. If you’d like some heavy duty fence panels, overlap fencing is the best way to go.

The design means the each wooden board covers part of the next and so allows no light through. This not only creates a very private fence but also adds strength to the fencing panel.

The added strength is good for security, and also helps if you have pets (or your neighbour does!) that you would prefer to stay on the right side of the fence.

They come in both vertical and horizontal overlaps, some boasting heavy duty boards and even made to measure – browse the variety of fence panels here.

Best fencing panels for pets

If you have a pet that you’d like to keep in your garden (or out of yours if it’s a neighbours!), a good option is the overlap fencing as mentioned above.

However – if you’re mainly looking to pen your pet in and not to cut off neighbourly contact, you also have the option to add fencing that includes a ‘top panel’. These top panels are often designed to let more light in, and let you still wave to adjacent gardeners; while still giving you the height needed to avoid pets running away.

From arches to eye catchers and even a simple straight top border, there’s bound to be one that suits your garden. Browse your options here.

Decorative fence panels

Whether you’d like a full height fence panel or a half height one to border the garden, there’s a huge variety of decorative options. Afterall, fencing can seriously improve your gardens aesthetic when you choose the right fence.

For full height fences, St Luniars and St Cyprien panels both offer a double sided paling options in a non-traditional pattern, in square and arched options.

The arched lattice fence panels are one of our favourites, offering an unusual wave design and of course, the Eyecatcher is a popular option if you’re looking for an arched fence panel.

If you like the look of natural surrounding, the willow hurdle fence panel might be the perfect option – full height and ties in perfectly with a natural garden.

Half height fencing offers some great decorative options too, with everything from top panels, tulip tops, arches and even castle rounds – browse your options here.

Best fence panels to keep airflow

Fences with double sided paling are best if you’d like a fence that blocks the light but allows airflow through. If you live in a hot area, a bit of airflow can be a blessing, making double sided paling perfect!

If you’re happy to forgo some privacy too, one sided paling allows more airflow through, and we’d also recommend looking at the beautiful Venetian panels as an option with a little more privacy and a stunningly modern impact.

Made to measure fence panels

If you’re not too keen on doing a lot of sawing once your panels arrive, don’t worry – there are plenty of fence panels out there that are made to measure. From budget overlap fencing to decorative options like the eyecatcher, you have a great number of options even if you don’t own a saw.
