These posts are treated to BS8417 at our very own treatment works, which will maximize the lifespan of the timber by up to 15 years! It also creates an effective barrier to infestation by insects and fungi.
The Postsaver sleeves are made from thermoplastic lined with a meltable thermoplastic bituminous liner. Postsaver is heat applied to the post prior to installation to create a long-lasting air and water tight seal on the ground line section of fence and gate posts making conventional ground line decay impossible.
Timber is a natural product and is subject to continual movement when exposed to atmospheric conditions. This may be evident with splits, shakes or warping. Whilst these can appear quite large and alarming, these cracks DO NOT affect the strength, integrity and durability of the product. These are not considered to be a fault or defect.
