Land drain pipe is used to cure waterlogged areas in gardens or other landscaped areas.
The perforated pipe allows water to enter through the small holes.
In construction, land drains are used to remove surface water from around buildings to prevent flooding. Without this, standing water in built-up areas can increase the static load on underground structures and retaining walls, causing damage over time.
Installing a land drain to remove the excess water relieves this pressure.
It is recommended to use a non-woven geotextile membrane to line the trench during installation, this prevents fine soil from entering the land drain, which could cause a blockage that will be difficult to clear in the future.
